Contents & Purpose
This website offers an accompanying online activities to the book Venus Goddess of Love and Beauty by Teri Temple and Emily Temple. The book is reviewed on our OMC survey (see here).
The online website offers an online version of the book.
The interactive activities follow the information in the book and include various actions to check its comprehension. The activities include Picture description match, True or False , to name the characters, brain teasers on Roman mythology, fill in the blanks, key words match up, quiz.
There are two more specific activities, on key words and another quiz.
There are two videos on the introduction to Venus and on her endeavors. There is also an audio version of an introduction to Venus.
There are weblinks corresponding to the pages in the book, on Venus’ role, on Venus and Mars and on her children
There is a short Venus slideshow, all of the photos appear in the book as well.
Further comments
The interactive activities allow teachers or individual readers to check their understanding of the myths surrounding Venus by accomplishing a variety of interactive tasks. The activities combine picture, texts, vocabulary and more.
Key words seem to be an important element of this activity.
The activities are diverse and fit for different types of learning (audio, video, slideshow, quizzes).
