The creators note that the Heroine crossword is offered “as a balance to the 'warrior' crossword…this crossword features many of the most well-known women mortals in Greek mythology.” This is how the creators chose to address gender diversity in their mythology activities. The students do not only learn new myths but also learn about the participation of women in them.
The women featured in the cross word include Helen of Troy, Arachne, Medea, Ariadne.
